Actions have consequences. We know this, but we often only think of it in terms of how does something immediately impact me?
In other words, we might do things that hurt others but if their is no perceived immediate consequence for me, then I might go ahead with my actions. But there are long term consequences as well.
If we are in the habit of constantly tearing down and hurting others, then we will end up losing the support of those around us and be left with nothing in the end. If we make foolish choices, we are ultimately going to fall prey to them.
Wisdom acts to bring good results to ourselves and others both in the short and long view of things.
