VISIT

We look forward to having you join us at Adrian First Baptist Church this Sunday! Our worship gathering begins at 10:45am. If you arrive a few minutes early, someone will be there to greet you. Feel free to park on our concrete parking pad near the building. There is a welcome table with a gift bag for you in the south foyer (the entry under the green awning).

What should I expect?
Worship begins at 10:45 and lasts approximately until noon. We have church members who will welcome you with a smile. During the service, we will sing, pray, preach, and collect an offering (though we don’t expect visitors and guests to give).

Our songs lean traditional with a mix of contemporary hymns and praise choruses. Pastor Mike preaches sermons from the Bible that aim to help you worship God, feel his love, and grow in love for him and others. Most Sundays, Pastor Mike uses the English Standard Version of the Bible. If you don’t have a Bible with you, no worries! We have Bibles in the pews along with song books. If you need a Bible, feel free to take one as our gift to you, or ask Pastor Mike and he will give you one.

What should I wear?
We have no formal dress code at Adrian First Baptist. People attend in attire as casual as shorts and a t-shirt and as formal as dresses and a suit and tie. We don’t want clothing style to be a barrier to worshiping God and experiencing his love. So, come however you feel comfortable attending a church.

What about my children or grandchildren?
There is a story in the Bible about families bringing their children to see Jesus. His closest followers tried to send them away, but Jesus interrupted and said, “Let the little children come to me!” God has a special place in his heart for children, and so do we!

Children of all ages are welcome in our worship gatherings. We also have a nursery for newborns through three-years-old. On alternating Sundays, we have children’s sermon and children’s church for those three-years-old through the 3rd grade. On both days, children stay in the auditorium until just before the sermon. On children’s church days, they are then dismissed to go upstairs to our children’s area where they will hear a Bible story and make a craft. On children’s sermon days, they will be invited up front to hear a message specially for them. Then, they return to their seats with a coloring bag.

And most of us have or have had little children of our own! We understand they can be noisy and unpredictable, and sometimes make messes. That’s okay. We would rather have interruptions and see children experience the love of God at church, than have them feel excluded.
