Text: Revelation 7:9-10
After this, I looked and there was a vast multitude from every nation, tribe, and people, and language, which no one could number, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes with palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!”  (Christian Standard Bible)

Prayer
Father, I thank you and praise you for your heart for the nations. Though in the Old Testament you chose a particular people for your purpose, you did not intend for them to be the totality of your people. The earth is yours and everything and everyone in it. You gave us the Messiah of the Jews to be Savior of the world. Father, may your Gospel spread to the nations with the power of your spirit. May our lives and our churches be tools in your hand to make your glory known. May we long to see your people from all time and all places gathered before you with one voice shouting praise to our King. Amen.

Prayer
Father, thank you for sending Jesus to be our life and supply. He is the vine; I am a branch. Help me to remember my full dependence on him. Make my life fruitful in him. Help me to grow to love more like you, to have joy more like you, and to have more of your peace. May the fruit of your Spirit abound in my heart. Amen.

Give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (Christian Standard Bible)

Prayer
Father, as we have come to another Thanksgiving holiday may we remember that everyday is to be a day of thanksgiving to you. Thank you for creating us to be objects of your love. Thank you for your love for us while we were still sinners by giving Jesus to die for our rebellion against you. Thank you for making us your precious sons and daughters through faith in Jesus when being a servant in your house would be more than we deserved. Thank you for caring for us each day and for shaping our hearts to be more like Jesus. Thank you for your word and your unfailing promises. Thank you that one day Jesus will return and right all wrongs as he restores creation. Father, thank you. Amen.

Now some Greeks were among those who went up to worship at the festival. So they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and requested of him, “Sir, we want to see Jesus.” Philip went and told Andrew; then Andrew and Philip went and told Jesus.  (Christian Standard Bible)

Prayer
Father, we live in a world filled with people who need to meet Jesus. Where they come to us, may we be faithful to show them Jesus through our acts of love and tell them of Jesus through the gospel story. Where they don’t come to us, may we be faithful to go to them with acts of love and the gospel story. Give us hearts for your mission. Cause us to see the great need around us. Make us kind, compassionate, and loving. Lead us to show others Jesus. Amen.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me, even if he dies, will live.”  (Christian Standard Bible)

Prayer
Father, death is an enemy and often seems final in our everyday experience. Yet, we know that the world is more than we see. You sent us Jesus to give us the hope of life beyond death, and not only spiritual life but also, one day, physical resurrection. Lord, increase our faith to live not just for the now but for what comes next. Help us to remember that life is more than the 70 or 80 years you grant us and to trust in Jesus for the hope of resurrection. Help us to prioritize eternity in how we live each day. Amen.

Praying through verses or passages of the Bible is a great way to help you pray according to the will and desires of God. Below is a passage of Scripture and a sample prayer. I would encourage you to pray that prayer, or, even better, read the passage and pray as God leads you.

Text: James 4:6-7
But he gives greater grace. Therefore he says: “God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  (Christian Standard Bible)

Prayer
Father, our battle is not against flesh and blood but spiritual powers of darkness. The greatest weapon you have given us to fight against sin and Satan is the unconquerable one–yourself. If you are for us, none can be against us. Your grace strengthens us to overcome every evil force. Yet, this requires humility on our part. This requires the realization that we cannot win on our own. This requires our hearts submitting to you. Father, remind us each day to rest in your grace and follow your will. Help us live in humble submission to your greatness, power, and love. Amen.

Text: Ecclesiastes 2:1-2
I said to myself, “Go ahead, I will test you with pleasure; enjoy what is good.” But it turned out to be futile. I said about laughter, “It is madness,” and about pleasure, “What does it accomplish?”  (Christian Standard Bible)

Prayer
Father, you are the God who delights in what is good. You call us to make you our highest delight through Jesus and to enjoy every good gift that comes from your hand. Father, turn our hearts from worthless pleasures–those that delight for a moment but end in ruin. Yes, sin has it’s passing pleasures, but what you provide is joy forevermore. May we test our hearts with you instead of the momentary passions of sin. Amen.
