Praying through verses or passages of the Bible is a great way to help you pray according to the will and desires of God. Below is a passage of Scripture and a sample prayer. I would encourage you to pray that prayer, or, even better, read the passage and pray as God leads you.
Text: Acts 7:60
Stephen knelt down and cried with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” And after saying this, he died. (Christian Standard Bible)
Prayer
Father, give us hearts of greater grace. Increase our love for others. Shape us to forgive like Jesus forgave on the cross; like Stephen did as he was martyred. Father, give us a longing to actively and freely forgive. Help us to move beyond offense to healing. Help us to love others in such a way that even if they should try to kill us, we can say, “Do not hold this sin against them!” Amen.
