God blesses his people, showing us his awesome love and amazing grace through Jesus. He blesses us, rescuing us from our sins, bringing us into a life of joy and hope, and promising us an unfading and glorious eternity. God blesses us by making us, former rebels against his goodness, his deeply loved sons and daughters.
And why does God bless us? Because he loves us and he delights in it.
But God also blesses us so that more people might come to know his blessing. We read in Psalm 67:
May God be gracious to us and bless us; may he make his face shine upon us so that your way may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. Let the peoples praise you, God; let all the peoples praise you. Let the nations rejoice and shout for joy…
Psalm 67:1-4
God’s purpose in Christ is to bring joy to the nations by bringing salvation to all peoples–every person from every place who will listen to the Gospel, reject their sin, and embrace Jesus, God’s gift of love.
If you have life in Christ, God has blessed you in ways beyond what you can imagine. How are you helping to bring that same blessing to the world?
