Praying the Bible ~ Isaiah 40:7-8

Praying through verses or passages of the Bible is a great way to help you pray according to the will and desires of God. Below is a passage of Scripture and a sample prayer. I would encourage you to pray that prayer, or, even better, read the passage and pray as God leads you.

Text: Isaiah 40:7-8
The grass withers, the flowers fade when the breath of the Lord blows on them; indeed, the people are grass. The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God remains forever.  (Christian Standard Bible)

Prayer
Father, our days on this earth are few. You are eternal. Your breath created and your breath brings to an end. You are powerful. Father, teach us to number our days. Make us thankful for each one you gift to us. Let our minds be in awe of you. May our hearts treasure you with each beat. One day we will wither and we will fade. This life will end and eternity will begin. Stir us to make the most of each moment and to live by your unfailing, unending word. Amen.
